Team Member Spotlight: Samantha
We’ve joined the entire world is doing things differently this year, from avoiding live social events and transitioning to virtual celebrations to wearing a mask for family holiday pictures — the list goes on.
One thing that has not changed is our gratitude here at AccessNurse, for we are grateful for many things. Most importantly, we are incredibly thankful for our AccessNurse family and all they’ve done for our clients, their patients, and our company.
To express our gratitude, we wanted to introduce you to a team member (virtually, of course) to see why we are so thankful for our team members.
Meet Samantha, A Weekend Clinical Manager at AccessNurse
Samantha has been with our company since 2017. Her positive, upbeat, team player mentality has brought her far in her career as a nurse and allowed her to hold several leadership positions. It also led to a promotion from her previous role as a Charge Nurse to a Weekend Clinical Manager. Samantha has a love for learning new things and is very enthusiastic about exercising with her family. In her spare time, she and her family volunteer to serve at a local animal shelter or other local community organizations.
Virtual Interview with Samantha
We had a virtual interview with Samantha to learn more, and here’s what she said:
Q: What is your favorite part about working at AccessNurse?
A: I love the positive, progressive culture at AccessNurse. I feel like I make a difference, and I am valued every day. The core values of AccessNurse align with my personal values. We have an amazing team and serve a wide variety of clients and their patients. I enjoy being there during someone’s time of need, listening & showing them compassion.
Q: What does it mean to provide quality care?
A: Quality care is not only following, meeting, even exceeding industry standards, which we strive to do. It also means treating each individual with respect and compassion, like they are family. We provide continuity of care as an extension of our client’s office, resulting in a higher quality of care.
Q: Can you tell us a story of when you felt you made a difference at work?
A: Not long after, I began working at AccessNurse. I spoke to a 50-year-old lady who called in due to heartburn. While speaking with her over the phone, I realized she was short of breath and learned that she had been “eating tums like candy” and was experiencing persistent “reflux,” as well as a new pain in her left shoulder. While she did have a history of hypertension and Diabetes Mellitus Type-2, she had no previous reflux issues history. She wanted an office appointment for the following day. However, I advised her to seek immediate care per our guidelines. After my guidance, she realized she might be having a heart attack and followed my advice. Before ending the call, she thanked me and expressed that she would not have considered that her symptoms could be related to a heart attack and that her mother passed away from a cardiac event. I still think of her today and am glad for her call and that she did not wait to seek care.
Q: What does it mean to you to work for Access Nurse?
A: It means everything to me. Even though we are facing unprecedented times, our company remains innovative, flexible, and adaptable. We are continually learning and growing to meet the needs of our clients and staff. My position with AccessNurse is not a job, it’s my passion. It is an honor to work alongside such a diverse group, all working for the same purpose, to provide excellent service to our clients’ patients. I am inspired by the support and commitment I receive from AccessNurse, and I always strive to provide that same level of support and commitment to every client, patient, and team member every day. I am forever grateful.
