AccessNurse Triage Data Confirms Light at the End of the COVID Tunnel Is Near
Now that there was a sharp decline in Omicron COVID-19 variant cases, acute COVID-19 cases appear to be ending for most locations worldwide. While questions of whether or not and when future variants will emerge are still waiting to be answered, data clearly shows that COVID cases worldwide are currently on the decline.
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as of March 9, 2022, the current 7-day moving average of daily new cases (37,147) decreased 28.8% compared with the previous 7-day moving average (52,156).
AccessNurse COVID-19 Related Triage Calls Corroborates COVID-19 Decline
According to our data, COVID-19-related triage call trends closely align with confirmed CDC COVID-19 cases. During February of this year, AccessNurse saw a significant decline of 105% in COVID-related triage calls from the prior month (January 2022 — the highest month in COVID-related cases during the entire pandemic) — see Figure 1 below.
Additionally, the sharp decline in COVID cases at the beginning of this year, too falls in line with the CDC’s data. See Figure 2 below that shows the daily trend in number of COVID-19 cases in the United States reported to the CDC so far this year.
